Leisure program at Tipiliuke Lodge

Year after year our leisure program has been attracting more enthusiasts.

Typical day

As our days are pretty long, we divide our activities in After Breakfast and After Lunch.

It is at the end of these meals that our hosts will help you organize the activity for each session.

Our days will typically begin with a continental breakfast which will be available from 8am with homemade scons, croissants, bread, yoghurt & cereals among other pastries.

As from 8.30 you can enjoy cooked breakfast with a variety of eggs, bacon, etc.

Some early birds start their morning enjoying a cup of coffee or tea from our Coffee Spot, which is there for you 24/7, while walking around the garden or sitting by the fireplace.

Our Activities

Horseback riding

Our riding program caters for all levels of riders, from first time riders to more experienced ones.

From the snowcapped Andes mountain range to the valleys and crystal-clear waters, Patagonia is known for its vast beautiful landscapes. It is hard to imagine riding in a more spectacular setting.

In addition to the beautiful scenery, the wildlife of Patagonia abounds on every ride.

From large herds of red deer, to Andean condors, to guanacos, to the elusive puma, you are sure to experience the best of Patagonia’s wildlife.

In addition to English speaking guides you will be accompanied by real Argentine gauchos, some of whose families have been on the property for over 3 generations. All our guides carry radios and riders can be picked up at any time in one of our 4x4 vehicles if they so desire.

After the ride, we return to the lodge for cocktails, lunch or dinner.

Hiking

Our hikes are arranged according to the desires of our guests.

We have guided and self guided hikes.

The guided hikes leave at a previously arranged time depending on the length of the hike.

If you enjoy hiking on your own then you will be given a radio for constant connection just in case you would like to be picked up by one of our trucks.

From the river valleys that made Patagonia famous many years ago, to the iconic Tipiliuke Mountain, to the snowcapped Lanín glacier in the distance, to the scenic 100-year-old pine forests, we have trail systems suited for every hiking ability.

You just can’t imagine a more beautiful place for a hike.

All our guides carry radios and hikers can be picked up at any time in one of our 4x4 vehicles if they so desire.

After your hike, you return to the lodge in time for cocktails, lunch or dinner.

Mountain biking

At the lodge we have mountain bikes available for our guests. We organize guided outings in many of our trails within the ranch and also offer the possibility of hiring guides from the town of San Martin de los Andes where eco bikes are also available to ride in some of the national park trails.

Downtown San Martin de los Andes

We are located at only a 30-minute drive from the town of San Martín de los Andes.

This mountain village is located on a beautiful valley on the edge of the Lacar Lake and is surrounded by a lush forest of native trees that brings life and colour into every season. It is one of the top destinations in Patagonia.

San Martín de los Andes is a very unique resort town built more than 100 years ago by European skiers who made sure their architecture would prevail. Visiting and doing a shopping trip to town is a must. There are plenty of nice shops with local arts and crafts made in wool, wood and clay. The Gaucho store is worth visiting too!

Last but not least, there is a magnificent Art Gallery which exhibits the art and photography of the world renowned Miciu Nicolaevici family as well as the silver work of some of the finest silversmiths in Argentina. Make sure you make time for this amazing experience!

Golf at Chapelco Golf Resort

Tipiliuke lodge is located just 20 minutes from Chapelco Golf course and resort designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus and his eldest son Jack Nicklaus II. They worked well together to create this unique Patagonian masterpiece. It was voted the Best Golf Course in South America.

The 18-hole, par 72 course at Chapelco Golf Club delivers an experience that will thrill and enchant players of any skill level.

The golf club offers full-service practice facilities including driving range, putting green and chipping green. Golf classes, clinics and junior school are also available.

At the golf club house dressing rooms, lockers, lounges and a pro-shop can be found.

Yoga & Massages

We are lucky to have highly trained professional masseuses and yoga instructors who live and have their Practice in the neighboring town of San Martin de los Andes and who are called on request to come to the lodge. It is best to book with a day´s notice, since they have ½ hour trip from the town to the lodge.
