The true heart of Tipiliuke lives in the hands, knowledge, and traditions of Claudio, Jorge, and Jorgito—the real gauchos behind our estancia. Native to Patagonia and raised in the gaucho way of life, their connection to this land runs deep, shaped by generations of respect for nature, horses, and work done with care. We are incredibly lucky to have had Claudio and Jorge Calfulen with us for many years now.
They are true gauchos who grew up on a Mapuche Indian reserve in the Malleo River area and formerly worked for the estancia. Both are remarkable horsemen, with an intimate knowledge of the land and its rhythms, making them exceptional guides for our horseback riding experiences. Alongside them is Jorgito, who continues this living tradition with the same pride, skill, and deep bond with the horses and the land. Together, they embody the spirit of Tipiliuke—authentic, generous, and deeply rooted in Patagonia’s gaucho heritage.
