Tipiliuke is not just a summer destination: the Chapelco ski area is one of the best ski resorts in South America, located a short 20 minute drive from the town of San Martín de los Andes (Patagonia). Chapelco has runs for all skiing experience levels and is well-known as a great family ski resort, boasting a six person gondola, various lifts and two magic carpets for beginners.
Chapelco's season runs from the end of June until mid September. The resort is based at 3,600 feet, ascending to its peak at 6,000 feet. The mountain has stunning runs through its forests, as well as open bowl skiing. The lodge is one hour and fifty minutes from Chapelco Ski Resort by car.
